Just in case anyone thinks that the rot in the current administration stopped at the President and the Vice-President, here's evidence that the Gonzales Justice Department used political bias in appointing public prosecutors - a report from the Justice Department's own Office of the Inspector General.
The 140-page report released Monday said Monica Goodling and D. Kyle Sampson routinely violated federal civil service law and Justice Department policy by seeking to hire only Republicans and conservatives. This sometimes meant that terrorist cases would be prosecuted by attorneys with no experience of such litigation. So, one wonders, how important really was it to get convictions?
